Lacy Medallion Ruby Stained Antique Toothpick Holder c1905

Lacy Medallion Toothpick Holder c1905

In 1905, this little toothpick holder was purchased and bears the name of the place, "Greenville, Miss."  These types of souvenirs were often sold at state fairs. The pattern has several names, including "Lacy Medallion" and "Jewel." It is an example of EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass). It was produced by U. S. Glass Company.  The ruby stain shows some wear but for 110 years, it is in excellent condition!

Gien Fish Platter Hand Painted

Coming from Loire, France, this platter is both simple and sophisticated in design. Beneath the glaze, fish scales are embossed around the edge of the platter. It has a subtle line of gild around the border of fish scale.

Victorian Hair Comb with Paste Stones

This piece speaks for itself! It is from the Victorian era. Beautiful! It has the look of tortoise shell but I have not verified that. I do know it is from the late 1800's - 1920's based on the person it was purchased from. Intricately decorated with paste stones and geometric design.

Fabulous Pheasant Feather Hat

This hat is constructed of pheasant and bird feathers. It is absolutely stunning! Would fit in today's eclectic fashion with ease. I believe it is from the early 1900's, perhaps 1920's. Great display piece.

Northwood's Brilliant Display of Color in Grape Arbor Pitcher

Grape Arbor was a pattern that Harry Northwood used before the carnival glass era. It transitioned into the iridescent treatment from custard glass. Northwood began production of carnival glass in 1908. This pitcher is in amethyst base glass and its colors are stunning!

Gorton-Pews Bob White Slide Box Advertisement

Great kitchen display item! Company was formed in 1906 and then changed its name in 1954. The Bob White Graphic of a quail is difficult to find.
It measures 6x4x2 inches.

Carved Shell Brooch/Pendent Three Graces Marked "500"

Depicted on this brooch are the Three Graces, known in Greek mythology as goddesses of such things as charm, beauty, and creativity. This brooch is well made; carved in shell. The shell is somewhat translucent when held to the light.  It has the look of a Victorian or Edwardian brooch; it is stamped "500" indicating that the gold content is 12k. Due to the closure on the back,  a roll over clasp, I estimate this piece to be c1920-1930, late Edwardian. The oval brooch measures 1 inch x 7/8 inch.

The Three Graces Bezel Set 12K Gold

The pin is straight and functions well. The piece does double duty as a brooch or might also be worn as a pendent since it has a loop at the top. Currently there is a chain on it. I do not believe it is the original chain and the quality is not as good as the pendant.

Antique Baby Photo in Victorian Frame Brooch Original Box

Green and white "stones" encircle the brass frame. The stones appear to be green and white jade.

Antique Baby Photo in Brooch Late 1800
All of the stones are present but 3 have sustained some damage. The are no longer slightly domed but flattened down. The frame was originally a brooch but the pin has gone missing over the years. The C clasp is still attached, dating this piece to the late 1800's.  The celluloid materials covering the picture has crackled due to age but it is still in place and protects the small photograph.

Baby Picture in Jade Studded Brass Frame Late 1800

The small frame is made of brass. It does show tarnish, even small areas of verdigris.  The back of the frame shows considerable patina. It is also marked "?lock pat.pend." The first letters are under tarnish.

Victorian Jade Studded Brooch with Baby's Picture

The stones at the clock positions of 11, 12 and 1:30 have been chipped.
Baby Brooch in Original Box

The brooch frame comes in its original box. The top of the box says "Best Wishes" so I am inclined to think the photo is of a living child.

Top view of box. The box measures 1.25 x 1.125 x .5 inches. It is in good condition for its age.

Hinge is straight and functions well.
