Primitive Immigrant Trunk

This trunk has been around for a long time! It still has the remnants of a US customs tag and an old address. It is missing the front escutcheon but the lock operates. At some point, someone felt the need to "antique" the finish.
 Notice the spelling of "Amerika!"

It has cast iron reinforcement straps.
Remnants of Customs Tag

The trunk has a slightly rounded camel top and forged iron handles on either end that are original.

Upper Lid Lock
I found a key that operates the lock. It is not original but it does work. The top loop of the key is broken in half but it is still easy enough to grasp to turn the lock.

In real life, the trunk has this mustard brown color as shown below. The pictures above were taken on a cloudy day but I used them because I thought they should some of the detail better.

The wood appears to be made of some type of pine. Some of the reinforcements are wood and the main reinforcements are metal It measures 39.25 inches long by 23.5 inches at the highest point. It is 21.5 inches wide from front to back.

Victorian Hand Mirror in Sterling Silver

This hand mirror has simple and elegant lines. The decoration is understated and the mirror itself is beveled glass. Patina is a soft grey.
Victorian Hand Mirror Marked Sterling Silver
The mirror back has a small herringbone pattern. Camouflaged in the pattern is the maker's mark. There are several figures in the mark, one of which is the lion passant, an English mark indicating sterling silver.
Beveled glass Victorian Mirror in Sterling Silver
The mirror is 10 1/8 inch long and at its widest point is 3 5/8 inch. The mirror gives a sharp image with no distortion. Upon close inspection, small specks reveal an aging process to the mirror. There is a spot for engraving on the back in the center but that was never done.

This is available for purchase at Woolbright's River City Antique Mall in Princeton, Wisconsin.

Lacy Medallion Ruby Stained Antique Toothpick Holder c1905

Lacy Medallion Toothpick Holder c1905

In 1905, this little toothpick holder was purchased and bears the name of the place, "Greenville, Miss."  These types of souvenirs were often sold at state fairs. The pattern has several names, including "Lacy Medallion" and "Jewel." It is an example of EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass). It was produced by U. S. Glass Company.  The ruby stain shows some wear but for 110 years, it is in excellent condition!

Gien Fish Platter Hand Painted

Coming from Loire, France, this platter is both simple and sophisticated in design. Beneath the glaze, fish scales are embossed around the edge of the platter. It has a subtle line of gild around the border of fish scale.

Victorian Hair Comb with Paste Stones

This piece speaks for itself! It is from the Victorian era. Beautiful! It has the look of tortoise shell but I have not verified that. I do know it is from the late 1800's - 1920's based on the person it was purchased from. Intricately decorated with paste stones and geometric design.

Fabulous Pheasant Feather Hat

This hat is constructed of pheasant and bird feathers. It is absolutely stunning! Would fit in today's eclectic fashion with ease. I believe it is from the early 1900's, perhaps 1920's. Great display piece.

Northwood's Brilliant Display of Color in Grape Arbor Pitcher

Grape Arbor was a pattern that Harry Northwood used before the carnival glass era. It transitioned into the iridescent treatment from custard glass. Northwood began production of carnival glass in 1908. This pitcher is in amethyst base glass and its colors are stunning!
